The Standing Falafel is a spatial response to the KX Squat Banquet brief. Inspired by the history of the food and context of the King’s Cross area, this modular and sustainable wearable design is a modern take on the banquet and the ritual of eating falafel. The body becomes a part of the design. The banquet is organised as a performance, each duo walks on the catwalk, which is Bagley Walk, wearing an element of the design. The models then proceed to undress and build the banquet, where the public can then prepare and enjoy their falafel in a pleasant and friendly setting.
Inspiré par l'histoire de ce plat et le contexte du quartier de King's Cross, ce design modulaire et qui repond aux pilliers du développement durable est une version moderne du banquet et offre une nouvelle approche de consommer le falafel. Le corps ne fait plus qu’un avec le design. Le banquet est organisé comme une performance, chaque duo marche sur le podium qu’est Bagley Walk, en portant un élément du design. Les mannequins se déshabillent et construisent le banquet, où le public peut alors préparer et déguster son falafel dans un cadre agréable et convivial.
